Placement Preparation Programme ."ensuring industry readiness……"
The PPP is a training module to improve the student’s employability skills.
Before going to the core areas of training the students are given an Introductory session on the need of training towards to become Industry ready, Motivation and the Work values are inculcated through eminent HR personalities from Industry. The Placement Preparation Program is conducted purely activity based such as:
• Mini Projects,
• Group projects,
• Power point presentations
• Management Simulations etc.,

to improve their leadership skill, Team work, Cooperation, Managerial Skill and Time Management.
Self evaluation is done through written tests, Mock interviews, Extempore, and Structured Group discussions.Separate session for C.V.writing & E-mail etiquette are made.
Learning Outcome of the Programme
A structured report will be provided for all students to give them an insight of their personality, knowledge level and skills.
The PPP will be an eye opener for the students about their required set of Employable Skill. It helps the students to understand and analyze their actual value in the market.
They get an opportunity to be exposed to various aspects that require immediate attention.

  The Institute is in the process of building up adequate infrastructure with large and spacious class rooms, air-conditioned seminar halls, besides recreation facilities like indoor games etc. for the students.
   
 
Library and Information Center
   
  The Institute has a well-equipped library with a large collection of books on textile and management oriented subjects. WEBOPAC facility is available for browsing all the database of the library. Excluding books, the library is also having a collection of Audio/Video Cassettes, CDROM, Conference proceedings, Project Reports etc. The Institute also subscribes EBSCO and Capitaline database for the enhancement of the students. The Library & Information Center of SVPISTM came into existence from the inception of the Institute. Since this is SVPISTM the only textile Institute which provides Management Studies under Textile field, the Library and Information Center serves the faculty, staff and the students with world-class information related to textile and management studies with good collection of Books, Journals, CD-ROMs, Online resources etc. To enhance the user satisfaction the Library adopts LIBSYS software in library automation with quality professionals to serve the users.

  The Library is located at the first floor of the administrative block. The library consists of mainly four sections.
  • The entrance is equipped with the Reference Section with WEBOPAC facility for the users.
  • The second section is stacked with Lending Books with Circulation Counter.
  • The third section is equipped with Journals and Reading Hall.
  • The fourth section is equipped with the Newspapers and Bound-Volume.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles & Management is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The aboriginal institution to continue and play preeminent role in the field of professional Textile Management Education. Preemptory global competition and perception of a new appetite for trained, dynamic and professional work in textiles industry gave birth to this Institute.
        Established in the year 2002, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles & Management has been playing a catalytic role in sensitizing and professionalizing the textiles industry, by creating successful professionals, who distinguish themselves by their intellectual capital, commitment to excellence and continuous development.

      Transition in the present textiles industry with huge expansion, needs the best management brains with technical synergy. * The SVPISTM written test consist 60 multiple choice questions covering the following areas to be answered in one hour.
  • General Mathematics to test mathematical skills and proficiency in data analysis and sufficiency;
  • General English to test language comprehension skills;
  • General knowledge and current affairs to test on intelligence and critical reasoning and awareness of Indian and Global Environment.
The Group Discussion will be on a topic of current interest, to be chosen by the participants from among alternatives made available by the Institute at the commencement of the discussion.

The two year full time course (PGDM) – Textiles is designed to offer core management learning for textile professionals. Addressing the growing complexity and competition of textile business, this program provides the right synergy of technology and management aligned to the specific needs of textiles industry. The course runs through four semesters. The first two semesters comprise of fundamental management training with specific application in textiles industry. This is complemented with industrial interaction, seminars, projects etc. to develop and enhance the latent skills of the students. A summer project between the second and third semester provides needed practical exposure to industry and its functioning. The third semester takes the students through the advanced areas of textiles industry management. In the fourth and final semester students specialize in the functional areas and conduct an extensive industry based project. This provides thorough knowledge and understanding in specific domain.

The two-year full time course (PGDM) is oriented to the needs of fast growing apparel industry covering knitting and garment clusters in the country. Creating a cadre of specialized professionals with technical and managerial knowledge is the gist of this course. The course is divided into four semesters. The first semester deals with basic textiles, knitting technology and fundamentals of management. The second semester comprised of an advanced study of apparel, marketing, finance aspects of management interspersed with industry project. The third semester deals with study of Apparel Production Technology, Quality Control and Textiles, Management Information System, International Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development with two electives of their choice. The fourth semester, the students specializes in their field of interest like HR, Marketing, Production, IT and Fashion Management apart from two core courses on finishing in garment and textile costing. This provides a comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical facets of the apparel Industry.

MoU

 
MoU signing ceremony between SVPISTM and TUL
An MoU has been signed between SVPISTM and TUL on 16th December 2010 at the Secretary’s Chamber, New Delhi. Ms. Rita Menon IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India & Prof S.R Pujar, Director, SVPISTM with Prof Alis Linka, Dean Faculty, Technical University of Liberec (TUL), Czech Republic were present. MoU related to restructuring of courses, new methods of teaching and learning, studies in various disciplines of Textile Technology and Management, inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary studies, exchange of relevant research information, faculty exchange and student exchange between the two Institute.
